On Wednesday 25th May, Collaroy Tennis Club hosted a special event to officially launch our 100 Year Anniversary. Largely organised by our indefatigable Secretary, Fiona Bevan, a list of dignitaries was invited to attend the function, comprising official speeches, light refreshments, a brief tour of the complex and the unveiling of our Centenary Plaque by Mayor Michael Regan. The response was wonderful!
The Mayor quickly accepted, even though he knew he’d be on a family holiday at Caves Beach at the time and would have to drive from Newcastle to Sydney to attend. His acceptance was followed soon after by fellow dignitaries Melissa Achten (President of Tennis NSW), Darren Simpson (CEO of Tennis NSW), other Northern Beaches Council representatives including Ray Brownlee (CEO), Campbell Pfeiffer (Executive Manager, Property) and Trudi Seymour (Property Officer), as well as Collaroy T.C. Life members Mike Peters, Bob Silversides, Bob Paterson and Dave Taylor.
